I witnessed pure email brilliance recently. One of my Partners was tasked with inviting a client who he only recently inherited and didn't know that well, to be a speaker at an event. He not only didn't mention the event in the first email of the chain...

...but somehow managed to get the client to volunteer herself as a speaker by the third email in the chain. When I asked him how he did it, he just said "I thought she'd like that sort of thing". And that's why those guys get paid the big bucks...

Wow! I've managed to get people to agree to some things I never expected to emails but the major difference is... I have NO idea how it happened to do it again and he has ALL of the smarts

The depth of the emotional response episode 3 of #Succession managed to elicit from me is completely irrational. I am dumbfounded.

Any number of dramas might be occurring in my life but getting my flower box delivery (that I absolutely should not be spending money on) once a month and the 15 minutes I need to arrange the bouquet, is the best form of therapy I can imagine.

(And the only form of therapy I can afford, at least until the little one is out of nursery and at school, because wtf is wrong with nursery prices in the UK!!!)
