I also donated a couple of gallons of blood back in college, but those records weren’t computerized…

Ditto. Did it for years as soon as I could, and now out of the habit, and feeling immensely guilty as a result.

No need to feel guilty! But if you're up for it, just make an appointment at a blood drive that works for you: redcrossblood.org/...

Feel like some gamification would help this cause a lot. While we should all be just donating nonetheless, but it might encourage folks if there were like "donation streaks", lives saved, total blood donated etc. badges :)

There certainly are in the Red Cross app, though they're not as good as they could be. Frankly, what I find most motivating is getting notifications around what hospitals my blood ended up at; it makes it feel more real.

To have a towel like that on the beach. Yes, I will give blood.

100% agree on this. It's partly because it's a small community, but also largely because the early adopters on T2 have a really positive vibe. I'm trying to do my part to keep that going. :)
My best tip for all the new @t2 users: Be more open-minded about who you follow here. I'm usually really stingy about clicking the follow button, but I've taken a different approach here and it's been great to meet some really cool people. (Repost this and share your fave tip!)

Obligatory *nearly* NSFW #BayToBreakers start line photo. (Luckily the guy was standing in juuuust the right spot to make it SFW)

Potentially crazy idea for you @gabor and @sarah - but while the T2 community is still on the small side, I'd love a view where I could see all tweets from all users. I'd love to find & follow new users more based on what they post than what's in their bio. #T2FeatureRequest

it's a patch until we get multiple feed tabs. unchecking it: allows you to see all new posts in chronological order. checking it: shows only posts from people you follow

I've had an EV for less than a week, but the thing I thought would annoy me the most has become one of the best features: **one-pedal driving**! I can go entire drives without ever touching the brake pedal, just letting regenerative breaking do the work, and it's AWESOME.

Same here! That was my prior as well and it has also become my favorite feature.

I did a test drive ages ago and I definitely didn't care for it - I was honestly worried I was making a bad decision. But it seems once you get past the first 20-30 minutes of actually using it in real life it's clearly a better experience.

902 days after reserving one, I took delivery of my Rivian R1S on Friday! LOVE the EV experience, LOVE the space of the R1S, and OMG it's so f**king fast! (0-60 in 3.0 seconds) Highly recommend this company & vehicle. (Their production is already ramping quickly...)

This is definitely a vehicle that sparks joy. :) But it's the pickup that got to higher volume first. Apparently you can get one within ~2 weeks, but I think that's heavily dependent on where you live. (b/c of support infrastructure)

Well, I put in my reservation in November 2020, long before they even started manufacturing. So if you put in a reservation now it'll be a HELL of a lot quicker. :)

You know what, I read (and then somehow wrote!?) it as 92 days. You are a patient man my friend. Lmk if you're looking for someone to take to & pick up from work every day.
