t2 originally launched in late 2022, right after the twitter takeover. the pitch was a smaller, kinder feed, with the basics done well. we onboarded a wonderful early community and raised an angel round.

The hard truth from that era: Bluesky, Mastodon, and eventually Threads were all competing for the same "twitter refugee" wave. there was no obvious middle to occupy.

In late 2023 we wound the company down. It sucked. We returned what we could to investors, and said thank you and goodbye to the team.

Fast forward to 2026. I spent most of the last year watching agentic coding tools go from "neat demo" to "i can actually finish weekend projects". The leap surprised me. I decided to test it on something i knew well: t2.

A monthly bill of <$50 instead of $5000 on the previous stack.
